Birth Doula Support

As a certified birth doula, I will provide continuous physical, emotional and informational support to you before, during and shortly after childbirth to help you achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible. I can facilitate communication with your care provider and medical staff in order to ensure that you have the information you need to make informed decisions regarding your baby’s birth. I will provide reassurance and perspective to you and your partner, make suggestions for labour progress, and help with relaxation, massage, positioning and other techniques for your comfort. I do not perform any medical tasks or make decisions on your behalf. I am independent and self- employed, and as such, I am working for YOU not your caregiver or place of birth. Like a travel guide in a foreign country, I help support you through the life changing experience of having a baby! Whether its your first baby, or you are adding to your family, I can help make the experience better, as we work together as a team!

My Doula Services Include

​

• An initial meeting for us to get to know each other enough to know if we are a good match. There is no charge for this meeting and no pressure to hire me as your doula. I want you to feel confident about your decision to add me to your birth team. Your birth, your baby, your choice!

• A minimum of two prenatal visits to go over your plans, discuss any concerns, and practice comfort measures with your partner (and any other member(s) of your support team).

​

• Access to phone/text and e-mail support throughout the term of our agreement. *On call availability for your birth from 37 weeks until the birth of your baby. I will make every effort to attend your birth, but in the rare event that I cannot, I will make plans to have my back up doula support you in my place.

​

• Availability to you from the onset of labour until a few hours after the birth of your baby. I will support you through early labour and may join you then, but will likely join you, and stay with you for the duration, once active labour has begun. I will provide continuous care throughout labour and delivery, until after you have established feeding and are ready for some quiet time together.

• A minimum of one postpartum visit afterwards to debrief and discuss the birth, to talk about any postpartum concerns, or just to marvel at the beauty of your baby! I will write a letter to your baby about their birth and my reflections of the experience. Their Birth Story can be a special keepsake.

Fees

​

•  Your investment for doula services is $750.00. 

•  Fees may be paid in installments or adjusted for special circumstances.
